• How should I care for my cashmere garment?

    Your garment can be washed often, but should not be washed after every wear. Washing your garment will actually make it softer and will help reduce pilling.

  • How should I wash my sweater?

    For Cashmere garments, the washing process is simple. Start by hand washing the garment in cold water, using baby shampoo or a mild alternative as the detergent. After this process, lay the garment flat to dry. This process is suggested rather than drycleaning, which can deteriorate the Cashmere. Moreover, all natural baby shampoo is less harsh on the fibres compared to a regular detergent. Cashmere can be washed often but it is not necessary after every wear.

    To avoid 'Felting', a 'No Rinse' concept is best. This process avoids the Cashmere from being overhandled. Not all shampoo is 'No Rinse', so make sure you read the directions before using.

  • Do cashmere sweaters pill?

    All natural fibres will pill. Pills are little balls of fibre that gather on your garment, usually in areas of friction. Pilling is a natural occurence and will most likely happen on your garment. To remove, start the washing instructions but stop when the garment is still wet. This is the best time to pick off the pills with your fingers. This will keep your garment looking fresh and new.

    DO NOT use a Sweater Stone as this may damage your garment.

    Tip: Washing your garment on a regular basis helps to reduce the 'Pilling Effect'.

  • How do I store my cashmere garment?

    When you are not wearing your garment, it should be properly stored in an air tight container or bag. Pests, such as moths, are attracted to body odours. These pests will quickly eat a hole in your garment if not stored properly.

    Before storing, make sure the garment is dry and clean. Body oils, perfumes and deodorants can discolour the fibre over time.

    In addition to storing the Cashmere properly, sachets of lavender or cedar balls are a great way to repel bugs.

    If you are concerned about bugs or moths being in your garments, place the article in a plastic bag and place in your freezer for a minimum of 2 days. This will kill moths and larvae.

  • Do you offer a repair service?

    If your Black Goat Cashmere garment needs repair, we are happy to offer complimentary mending on clean and washed merchandise.

    Simply bring it into one of our physical locations or mail it to our Corporate Headquarters and our team will do our very best to fix any minor tears or holes.

    Please note that by law, and following health regulation standards, we reserve the right to refuse any garment that is, or appears, unwashed or soiled. Unwashed garments will be returned to the sender without a resolution.

    Yes, this site follows all recommended security precautions. We adhere to all Web Security Standards when it comes to encrypting your data. We do not store Credit Card numbers or information in our databases.

    Black Goat Cashmere accepts all major Credit Cards: Visa and MasterCard. * In stores, we also accept American Express. 

  • Will I be charged sales tax?

    Sales Tax is only charged on Orders shipped within Canada.

    SALES TAX WILL BE DEDUCTED FROM ANY INTERNATIONAL ORDER. However, duties and taxes may be charged when the package arrives in your country.

  • How do I place an order?

    You can add items to your 'Shopping Bag' from the product pages. Please note that items saved in your cart are not guaranteed to be placed on hold in the inventory.

    When you add an item to your bag, you will see a pop-up above the style that the particular item has been added. You can view your 'Shopping Bag' at any time while shopping by clicking the shopping bag icon located on the upper right corner of our website (next to 'My Account'). 

    When you are ready to checkout, select the 'Shopping Bag' icon to view your selected items. To proceed to the checkout, select 'Go To Checkout". Follow the below steps to finalize your order on our website.

    1. Confirm your 'Customer Information/Shipping Address'
    2. Choose a 'Shipping Method' (FedEx Standard Ground, Express or Priority)
    3. Choose a 'Payment Method' (edit billing address if different than the shipping address)
    4. 'Review your Cart' and submit 'Order Comment' if applicable
    5. Select 'Place Order'

    Once your order is placed, you will receive email confirmation about the status of your order.

  • I'm having difficulty placing my order, what should I do?

  • Will I receive an order confirmation?

    Yes, you will receive email confirmation at every stage of the order process.

    An email confirmation is sent immediately once your order is placed to notify you that it is being processed. After we confirm your order, you will receive an additional email when your credit card is charged and your order status is marked as paid. Lastly, you will receive an email with your tracking information when your order is shipped.

  • How do I check my order status?

  • What if the item I order is sold out? Why was my order canceled?

    We make every effort to keep sufficient stock of items listed on our site. Occasionally we do sell out of certain products and sizes. If we cannot fulfill your order, we will notify you via telephone and changes will be reflected in your order total.

  • When will I receive my order?

    Depending on what 'Shipment Method' was selected at 'Check Out' and where the shipment is going, it may take 1-5 business days to be delivered to you. Please view our Shipping information for more details. 

  • How will I know if my order has been shipped?

    After your order is processed and paid (which you will be notified for both), you will receive an email with your FedEx Tracking Information. 

  • Where can I find my tracking # for my order?

    After your order is shipped, you will receive an email with your FedEx Tracking Number. You can track your package via the FedEx website (www.fedex.com) with this number. You can be taken directly to the tracking page via the above link. 

  • Who is your shipping provider?

    Black Goat Cashmere ships via FedEx.

    PLEASE NOTE: Ground orders are only available for shipments within Canada and typically have a transit time of approximately 1-4 business days to major metropolitan areas and 5 business days to more rural areas. Please note that while FedEx is always fast and accurate, Ground shipping does not guarantee an exact arrival date. If you need a guaranteed arrival time, we encourage you to choose the Express or Priority options at an additional charge.

  • Do you ship internationally?

    Black Goat Cashmere ships worldwide. For all international orders, you will have the option in selecting Express or Priority shipping at 'Check Out'. Please see View Shipping   for more details.
